For international program information and history: awana.org We are proud to have an Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed Club (AWANA) at church. Our AWANA club is for children from age 3 all through high school. AWANA meets every Wednesday night, throughout the school year, at 6:30 p.m. In AWANA , children and youth are taught a Bible lesson every week, specifically designed for their age range, taught by a thoroughly trained, adult leader. In AWANA, children and youth are given weekly activities to do at church and at home, these activities differ by age, then they are awarded points, which they may use to buy toys or other things at the AWANA gift store. Every week the children and youth participate in a different activity or game at church, while being supervised by their team leaders (adult supervisors). AWANA is a highly rated, international children and youth program which has been in many churches since 1950. AWANA is an excellent weekly activity for children and youth to be able to have fun and learn about God's love for them.
The Children's Ministry of the
Church is a crucial part of Church. Children's Bible Study begins at
9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings, this is where children are in small groups
with teachers and children there own age and they have a Bible lesson
for one hour. After Bible Study children go to Children's Church, which
is held in the Fellowship Hall of the Family Life Center at 11:00 a.m.
Here they sing songs, play games, and have a Bible lesson with a video
clip. We have many adults supervising both Bible Study and Children's
Church. Children also can go on trips to Summer Camp for a weekend.
Children's Church is a fun and exciting place where children grades
K3-6th can go and learn about Jesus, play games, and make friends, all
in a safe kid-friendly environment. They now have a brand new playground
for the children,too!
FAITH is the outreach ministry of our church. FAITH meets every Monday night at 6:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center. In FAITH, teams from each Bible Study Class go and make visits to that week's first-time church guests, folks in the neighborhood, the sick, the shut-ins, and anyone that has requested a visit. Before the teams go and make visits, though, each member has been taught how to talk to others, has learned a very simple outline on how to share their faith with others, and how to lead a person to Christ. FAITH is a wonderful class to join, to learn how to easily communicate your faith, share a simple plan of salvation, and to reach the hurting and lost in the community. FAITH is a 12 week program in which you are equipped to present the plan of salvation to an unbeliever, and to share your own testimony of salvation. Before every class there is a light meal served at 5:30 p.m. There are no age restrictions to FAITH-- everyone is welcome.
Our food service ministry is in use constantly. We are definitely an eating church, which means that this group is always working and preparing the Church many fantastic meals. This ministry prepares meals during Jubilee, revivals, fundraisers, luncheons, banquets, and more. Those that feel they are good in a kitchen are welcome to join in and help cook or clean. The food service ministry also schedules caterers for events like pizza parties for groups at Church. This ministry is very useful and enjoyed by the whole Church Family.

This ministry is held on public school campuses where they can reach children that may have never heard about Jesus or the Bible. Our Church is very happy to say that we sponsor two clubs: Ocean Bays Elementary and Forestbrook Elementary. This means that once every week during school the school year we have opportunities to reach children in two public elementary schools. We begin this ministry each year in the Fall at the beginning of school and continue throughout the school year. There have been many children who have given their lives to Christ through this effective outreach program. Pam Datlof manages the Ocean Bays campus and Debbie Thompkins manages the Forestbrook campus. For more information go to cefonline.com.

Nursery is available during all Worship Services and Jubilee for children infants through age three. Volunteers for the nursery rotate times and days. There are always two people in the nursery every service to watch over the children. If there gets to be a large number of children, there are more volunteers brought in for assistance to watch and care for the children, so the children are always supervised and taken the best possible care.
